Falling into Fear adventure book children Falling into Fear - by Anne Colledge

Catherine is a young deaf girl. Her Mum is seriously ill, and her Dad has left home, so she finds herself staying with her grandparents for the summer. At first, she is alarmed to find that she keeps slipping back through time.

She encounters new and frightening experiences in the past: she learns what it's like to be bombed in a war, to live as a Roman slave, and to encounter wolves. But Catherine's experiences teach her to come to terms with the difficulties of her modern, everyday life.

Ann Colledge was born in Ruabon, North Wales and was educated at Homerton College, Cambridge, and Sunderland Universities. She has an honours degree in Psychology and English.

Now retired, Anne taught deaf children for thirty years. She loved working with the pre-school children: the youngest was only four months old. Anne has a high tone hearing loss herself, and has two hearing aids.

Anne loves reading, cycling and kayaking. She is a two-star British Canoe Union canoeist, and belongs to Croquet Canoe Club. She canoes rivers, and on the sea.
